Earl C. Wilbanks

Earl C. Wilbanks, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:00 A.M., Monday, February 16, 2004 at his residence.
Earl was a retired conductor from Illinois Central Railroad after forty-seven years of service.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and Lifemember of VFW.  He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.  He was a S.Sgt. serving in the U.S. Army during W.W. II.
He was born March 7, 1921 at Bemis, TN, the son of Earl C. and Lola (Akin) Wilbanks Sr.  
He married Roberta Maclin on September 6, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters - Cindy Miller and husband Jay of Centralia, IL, and Susan Fulk of Du Quoin, two sons - Earl Kent Wilbanks of Belleville, IL and Stephen Wilbanks of Du Quoin, grandchildren - Jona and Mandy Overton, Meagan Wilbanks, Amy Rose, Holly Sanders, Hailey and Hank Fulk and Eve Wilbanks and special friend - Mary Owens of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services were at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson and Rev. Jackie Davison officiating.
Friends called from 11 A.M. until the time of the service, Saturday at the funeral home.
